Walter Lee Hodge Jr was born on May 3, 1934 in Fort Gaines, Georgia to the late Walter Lee Hodge Sr and Ola G. Davenport Hodge.
In 1954 Walter joined the Army of the United States of America serving 2 years. He later moved to Miami, FL where he and his longtime friend Gladys Hodge from Fort Gaines, GA were united in Marriage on January 17, 1958. During that union in 1964 came one son Walter Eric Hodge, whom they cherished, loved, and adored.
In 1964 Mr. Walter Hodge joined the Miami Dade Transit bus company where he spent the rest of his career, retiring after 35 years of service.
Deacon Hodge remained active in his church until his health failed. He served on the Deacon Ministry and sang in the choir. Walter was dedicated to his church and community often contributing his time and services to those in need.
On November 30, 2020, the Lord called for him and he gained his wings. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents: Deaconess Gladys Hodge, Ola G. Davenport Hodge, and Walter Lee Hodge SR.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Son, Walter Eric Hodge(Tracy Hodge); Grandchildren, LaShunda Hodge ,Yukia Hodge Thrower (Charles Thrower), Erica Hodge, Eric Hodge, Tatiyana Hodge, Shawntria Johnson, Kajuana White, Christopher Hodge, Aunts, Coral Mae Davenport, Geraldine Long, and Mary Lee Major; and a host of great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
