"Our queen left with the Lord. The most beautiful rose was chosen by our God. We know that there is a great emptiness in our hearts, but it gives us joy knowing that Mommy is already with her only love. A great daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother and friend she was. Beautiful Mother, rest next to Papi that we will be fine. We will strive to win heaven so we don't lose you anymore. Nice memories we have until we meet again. We will always love you, our queen, and we will never forget you. " Poem by Yolanda Vega
Ana Rosa Vega was born on September 7, 1959 in Arecibo, PR. Her parents were Teofido Feliciano and Maximina Acevedo. She had four brothers and four sisters. She met Rafael Vega in 1977 and in 1978, they welcomed their first daughter. They were married in 1995 in the church their family were members of; Iglesia Cristiana Unidos en Cristo. Their Pastor at that time, Hector Hernandez, officiated their wedding. Their children were part of their wedding court. A few months later, they were blessed with welcoming their last son.
Rosa (as affectionately called) was a home maker. She cared for all eight of their children and kept her home, while her husband was the sole provider. In March of 2016, Rafael passed away in his sleep while vacationing in Puerto Rico; his wife by his side. Although this was a great loss to her, she always said she had her children to live for. Her children encouraged her to live for her because she deserved to. She tried to live her new life without her beloved husband and began to travel with her daughters and grandchildren.
She loved the Lord and instilled the value of serving the Him into her children. She was a very caring, kind and understanding woman. She had a soft-spot for children and people with addictions. She had a passion for gardening. Her favorite flower was the Sunflower. She enjoyed wearing dresses. Her favorite color was pink.
A tragic loss to her family, she passed away on the evening of Monday, June 22, 2020. Her family and friends miss her a great deal. She will never be forgotten and her memory will live on forever.
Ana Rosa Vega is survived by her eight children; Rosa Maria "Tita", Miriam "Cookie", Luis "Prieto", Adalberto "Gordo", Jose "Bebe", Yolanda "Yoly", Mayra, and Edwardo "Eddie". She had fourteen grandchildren; Isamar, Alonzo, Zheneavia, Mayaliz, Madison, Kadence, Hailey, Annaliese, Mason, Danny Jr., Jeremiah, Damien, Olivia and Nolan.
We, the Vega family, wish to acknowledge with deep and sincere appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to us during this difficult time. May God bless and keep you.
