He was born in Dorchester, Mass., grew up in the Bronx and graduated from Brooklyn College. Leo met Anne, the love of his life in New York and married in 1952. After their honeymoon in Miami Beach and working through winters in Albany they found a home in Surfside, FL where he resided with his beloved wife for 55 years, raising their 4 children together. Leo worked as a CPA, P.A. in Miami Beach and served as Town Auditor of Surfside in the 1970’s while working at Shapiro, Fleishman & Co as a Partner. He began his own business in 1985 and continued to work past retirement. Leo enjoyed working up until his last days. He was respected for his excellent work and well liked by his clients who became his friends. Leo was passionate about his work and instilled this work ethic in his children.
He was a loving, faithful husband, caring father, brother and grandfather who always stood by his family. Leo was a great storyteller and loved to make jokes. His sense of humor and sparkling blue eyes combined with his smile would light up a room.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Anne Paul and is survived by his loving children, Ira (Nitaya) Paul, Ettie (Mark) Langer, Tina Paul and partner Arhlene Ayalin, David Paul, grandchildren Sergey and Peter Langer and many nieces and nephews.
Services to be held at 11 am on Friday, January 8 at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels 20955 Biscayne Blvd. in Aventura with burial to follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
