Tommie Anne Parker, 89, of Jacksonville passed away on September 16, 2021. Tommie was born on October 8, 1931 in Puryear, Tennessee; the daughter of Bonnie Lewis Brown and Hettie (Langford) Brown. Tommie married her husband Allen Thomas Parker on June 8, 1952, and they shared 69 years of marriage. They moved to Arkansas in 1995 from Mississippi. She was a bank teller and loan officer, and was a member of the Somers Avenue Church of Christ. Tommie enjoyed cooking, sewing, and the ladies classes at church. She treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Tommie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband Allen Parker of Jacksonville, Arkansas, her daughters Debra Richmond of Sherwood, Arkansas and Jenifer Bond of Birmingham, Alabama, her son Jim Parker of Farmington, Michigan, grandchildren Mike Parker, Allen Parker II, Susan Baalaer, Michael Baalaer Tammy Schluchter, Elizabeth Carroll and Rebecca Richmond, her brother John Brown of Greenville, South Carolina and her sister Loretta Sebastian of Highland, Michigan. Also surviving are numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Walter Parker, and two sisters Mildred Horan and Betty Blanton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at noon with Oran Burt officiating.
