Mary June Charles

Mary June Charles, age 90, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on September 30, 2020. Mary was born on June 3, 1930 in Pike County, Indiana, to Roy Loveless and Agnes Steele Loveless. Mary was a devoted wife and a loving mother of two children.

At the age of 16, she met and married the love of her life, James Charles on March 1, 1947. Sharing 73 years of marriage. She was a homemaker. She taught children’s Sunday school at Forest Highlands Baptist church. She was especially proud of achieving her GED in June of 1963. She enjoyed spending time with her family camping and fishing. Later in life she enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motorhome.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Harold Loveless. She is survived by a sister Zelma Phillips. Mary is survived by her husband James Charles of Little Rock; a daughter, Connie Charles Hicks of Sherwood; a son Tommy Charles (Kathleen)of Little Rock;, and five grandchildren, Delana Hicks Keeling (Jeff), Christen Hicks Miles (Justin), Neil Thomas Charles, Nathan James Charles (Julie), Brooke Howard Claussen (Evan), and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Hickory Heights nursing home for the love and care these last two years.

A funeral service will be held celebrating Mary’s life on Saturday, October 3, 2020 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the cemetery.
