Maria Cunningham, aged 76, passed away on November 30, 2024, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on February 7, 1948 in La Lima, Honduras, Maria dedicated 38 years to educating young minds in public schools across North Little Rock and Jacksonville. She touched the lives of many students. Her commitment to education extended to her military service, where she taught Spanish at the Air Force base, enriching the lives of many who served.
Maria was a woman of deep faith, actively involved in Agape Church and Victory Baptist Church. Her hobbies included spending quality time with her family, collecting art, and traveling the world, which brought her immense joy and fulfillment.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John Cunningham; son, David Cunningham; daughter, Nicole Cunningham-Wilson; son-in-law, Robert Wilson; granddaughters, Cayla and her husband Alex, Ryanne, Chloe, Abbie, and Riley; two sisters, and three brothers. Maria was preceded in death by her parents.
Maria's life was marked by her devotion to her family, her passion for education, and her unwavering faith. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A visitation for Maria will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR 72117, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
