Loretta I. Burns, 90, of Fort Pierce, Florida passed away December 30, 2016. Loretta was born and raised in Terrell, Arkansas and resided in both Arkansas and Michigan the majority of her life until she moved to Fort Pierce Florida where she lastly resided. Loretta was first and foremost a homemaker, and she also worked in food services, janitorial services, and in administration for Mary's City of David in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She was an avid gardener, and in her spare time, Loretta was known to be seen shopping at Thrift Stores. She loved God and was a faithful member in the Church of God for many years and most recently attended Treasure Coast Assembly of God in Vero Beach, Florida. Loretta thoroughly enjoyed Southern Gospel Music. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is survived by her son, John Burns (Betty); daughter, Nancy Carter (Ben); grandchildren, Jennifer Carter, Jaymie (Gregory) Chaires, Lisa (Keith) Overholser, David Burns, John Burns, and Jennifer (Chris) Gibson; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and niece,
Linda Sternaman (John). Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John A. Burns; nieces, Alma Terry, Betty Dilts, Melvina Burns, and Shirley Lawrence; and was the last of 11 siblings. Visitation will be held at Rest Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Saturday, March 18th at 1pm in the chapel followed by a memorial service at 2pm.
