She is predeceased by her father, Jared Hillman Barker and mother, Mary Sutherland Barker; her brothers, John Barker and Jared Thomas "Tink" Barker; her sister, Mary Lou Barker McCollough.
Linda attended school in Heber Springs and Concord, AR. She went to college at Arkansas State College in Jonesboro, AR. She had planned on becoming a teacher like her father, brothers and sister, while at ASC (now ASU). She met and married the love of her life, Claude Thomas on September 21, 1959. She became and Air Force Wife and accompanied Claude to all of his assignments. One thing they had in common was, they shared the same birthdate and same year.She attended Sylvan Hills Community Church where she was a greeter along with her husband, Claude and daughter, Terri. She had a smile for everyone she met and they looked forward to seeing that smile. She was a wonderful loving wife and mother. She always has a positive attitude and was a joy to be around, she was always kind and thoughtful. She retired from Arkansas Power and Light now, Entergy after 34 years.
She is survived by her husband, Claude Edward Thomas, three children; James Edward Thomas (Brandy), Theresa Lynn Thomas and Michael Ray Thomas (Donna). She is survived by a brother, Joel (Pat) Barker of Colorado. Grandchildren; Heather Rogers (Stephen), Charles Back, Jason Thomas (Lindsay), and Jamie Thomas. Great Grandchildren: Ashtyn Anderson, Ava Anderson, Sara Rogers, Aubree Rogers, and Alex Back.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, North Little Rock, AR.
Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM at Griffin Leggett Rest HIlls, North Little Rock, AR with Brother Sam Hayes officiating. Burial will be immediately after service in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
