John Davis Messer, Jr. LTC (Ret.) 78, of North Little Rock, Arkansas died September 27, 2022. He was born May 3, 1944 in Athens, Georgia to the late John D. and Myrle C. Messer.
John graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree from Duke, and a PhD from Georgia. He was commissioned a 2Lt in the United States Army in 1965 and retired a LTC in December of 1994.
He is survived by a niece and 3 nephews as well as step-children. John will be missed by many colleagues and a special friend, Lynn Hook.
A graveside service with honors will be held at Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Col (Ret.) Phillip Lipsmeyer, LTC (Ret.) Russell Mathis, Jim Wilkins, Janice Simmons, Deb Mathis. Griffinleggettresthills.com.
