Carolyn F. Schalchlin

Carolyn Frances Schalchlin, 91, of Sherwood passed away on October 10, 2022. Carolyn was born on September 2, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas; the daughter or Wilfred and Alma (Metcalf) Olsen. Carolyn married her husband Neil Schalchlin in 1952, sharing nearly 71 years of marriage. She was a registered nurse. Carolyn is a member of North View Missionary Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Carolyn enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, jigsaw puzzles, and Facebook. She was a talented pianist and singer. Her family will always cherish her sense of humor and quick wittedness.

Carolyn leaves behind her husband, Neil Schalchlin of Sherwood Arkansas, her four sons Steven Mark Schalchlin of New York City, NY, David Olsen Schalchlin of Sherwood, AR, Corwin “Corky” Neil (Diane) Schalchlin of Prosper, TX, and Scott Matthew (Annette) Schalchlin, of Austin, TX, as well as five grandchildren Elizabeth, Jonathan, Geoff, Alex, and Emily, seven great grandchildren Audrey, Eleanor, Angela, Millie, Julia, Matthew, and Ollie, her two surviving sisters Freida Meuwly from Las Vegas, Nevada and Ruth Naslund from West Monroe, LA . She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Richard Olsen.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 from 11:00am until services begin at 1:00 pm at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock, with Bro. Mike Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan, AR.
