Services for Bobbie will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, AR 72117. Visitation will be at 1:00pm, a service will be at 2:00pm, and burial will be at 3:00pm.
Bobbie was born in Silas, Alabama and was the oldest child of a Southern Methodist preacher. Encouraged by her parents to learn the piano she often accompanied her father playing for church services.
In Bobbie’s youth, she was a bit of a tomboy. At 5’ 9 1/2”, she was tall for her generation and enjoyed playing softball and basketball. She was even a member of a motorcycle club at one time.
After graduating high school, Bobbie attended Asbury College for 2 years before continuing to Nursing School. She graduated in 1954 from The University of Alabama Hospitals, Jefferson Hillman Hospital School of Nursing, in Birmingham, Alabama with her nursing degree. She passed her State Board Examinations with a composite score of 543 when the standard passing score was 350.
She was a Registered Nurse in Alabama, Arizona, Texas, and Arkansas.
Bobbie was a surgical nurse for over 40 years and retired from Baptist Memorial Hospital after 25 years.
She was a mentor to many nurses that in turn became mentors to others.
Bobbie’s family has always been active with Frost Bridge Camp Meeting. She was also active with the First Assembly of God North Little Rock.
Bobbie loved to travel. She went on several cruises including the Alaskan Inside Passage and the Panama Canal. She also participated on many trips with her church’s KeenAgers group. She combined her love of travel and love of nursing by going on a medical mission trip to Honduras where they provided surgical services and medical supplies.
Bobbie loved to read. She had numerous hobbies including creating needle works for friends and family. She loved making jewelry with the helpful oversight of Kittie’s Kreations.
She was active at the Jack Evans Senior Citizen Center and was often found playing cards, dominoes, or bingo.
She was a season ticket holder to the Arkansas Symphony and the Arkansas Chamber Singers.
She was proceeded in death by her father Cecil Aubrey Massey; mother Lyda Lee (Wimberly) Massey; brother Lamar Massey; brother-in-law David “Buddy” Lutes; husband Donald Eugene Moore; husband Burt Thomas Repasz; best friend Charlcy Green; and beloved dog Maggie. She is survived by her sister Naomi Baas and husband Harry Baas; sister Ruth Lutes; sister-in-law Nancy Massey; son Donald Massey Moore and his daughter with Michelle Moore, granddaughter Rebecca Nicole Moore; son Gary Eugene Moore and wife Michelle Gunter Moore; and a host of family and friends.
