Barbara Ann Curtis was born in England, Arkansas on October 31,1945 to Henry and Dollie Campbell. Growing up as the youngest of ten siblings, she knew the value of a loving family. Sisters: Macel Combs (Bill), Betty Burnett,(LeRoy) Brothers: Bob Campbell (Helen), Bill Campbell (Catherine), Curtis Campbell, Louis Campbell (Mary), Clarence Campbell (Janice), Lindell Campbell (Cheryl) and Charles Campbell.
In 1963, Barbara married her true love Roy Curtis right after high school at the age of seventeen. Roy and Barbara just had their 58th wedding anniversary on September 28, 2021. They have three children, Melissa Fetherston(Scott), Tim Curtis(Allison), and Melody Meckfessel(Steven) and five grandchildren Cody Moore, Shelby Curtis, John Andrew Fetherston, Grayson Meckfessel, and Anna Fetherston.
Barbara loved spending time at Hot Springs, Arkansas, at her friend's lake house each summer. She enjoyed riding around on their boat and being with her family. She loved playing the piano and gathering around to sing hymns. She loved reading a good christian novel, especially on the beaches of Destin, Florida and Orange Beach, AL. She was a teacher for over 20+ years. She taught 2nd grade at Julia Shannon in Stuttgart, AR, adult education through PCSSD Adult Education, and homeschooling a granddaughter. As a teacher, she went over and beyond for her students making sure each one felt loved and assured.
Barbara loved the Lord with all of her heart. She has been a member of First Assembly of God in North Little Rock for over 28 years. She was always looking for ways to bring joy to her family and friends. She would drop everything to provide support and love to her children and grandchildren. She has left a wonderful legacy of faith, hope, and love, and to her we are truly grateful.
Barbara’s visitation will be on Thursday, November 4 at 6-8PM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, North Little Rock, AR. Also, visitation at First Assembly of God in North Little Rock will be on Friday, November 5 at 10-11AM and life celebration service at 11AM-12PM. Burial ceremony immediately following service at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park.
