Anwar immigrated to the United States from Ramallah, Palestine in 1969 in pursuit of the American Dream of establishing a safe and prosperous life for his family in which his endeavors were successful.
Anwar was an established ground-up entrepreneur and owned various businesses throughout his lifetime in Arkansas.
Anwar had a deep love for Arabic music and his beautiful voice always lit up the room at any party when he would sing. He also had a great passion for fishing, gun collecting, and repairing vintage fishing reels and firearms. He was an avid history buff, and anyone who knew him also knew he was no stranger to a friendly debate over history, religion, and politics.
Anwar was preceded in death by his father Ghanem Kassees, his mother Nali Kassees, his two brothers, Zaki Kassees and Mazen Kassees, and his sister Samia Kassees.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Wisam Kassees, his son Nader Kassees, his daughter Natalie Salamy, his 3 grandchildren Yazmine Kassees, Peter Salamy and Ramzi Salamy, his brothers Atallah Kassees and Ousama Kassees, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anwar was a very genuine, straight shooter who will be dearly missed by all.
