Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, loved by many, Alvin Benson Martin, known by his friends as "AB", passed peacefully early Saturday morning on October 8, 2022 at the age of 85. Born March 11,1937 in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the youngest of two children. A.B. is preceded in death by his father and mother, Alvin Martin Sr and Bernice Brooks, and his brother, Joseph Boyd. He is survived by his wife Louise Martin, children Andrea (Kyle) Kinne, Patrick Martin, Kathy Morrell, Michelle Arndt, Jimmy Elmore, grandchildren and great grandchildren including grandsons Daegan Kinne and Maverick Kinne, who held a special place in his heart.
As an entrepreneur, he owned and operated several businesses including a roofing company, three restaurants, a landfill and a mortgage company. The City of Opa-Locka named A.B. Martin Street to honor and recognize him for contributions and dedication to the city. For all those who knew him, he will be remembered for his vibrant personality and character.
