Our dear Mother Funk ran a good race. She ran with "Patient endurance"  no matter the journey or the difficulty. She ran the race that God had set before her (Hebrews 12:1). Mother Funk has obtained the prize, the crown of life that God has rewarded her with. (1 Corinthians 9:24). She will always be remembered for her life, faith, kindness,and love she demonstrated to others and to me and my family.

My memories and friendship with Mother Louise Funk, stem's over 22 year's. I will forever Love and cheerish her hugs, smile and kind words of wisdom.   We grew up at Calvary Temple. My daughters started in the nursery under the care of Mother Funk and worked their way through every level offered at Calvary.  You're a part of the villiage that helped nurture my family.  We have so much history together, I could go on an on.  Thanks for embracing everyone that attended Calvary. Mother Funk will be deeply missed but... her legacy lives on forever. My life was touched by an angel and I'm so greatful that God allowed our paths to cross.  I will miss seeing her seated on the 2nd row each and every Sunday morning.  Thanks again for sharing your life with me any my family. We Love you Mother Funk.

In loving memory of a gracious christian lady, who through her love and kindness became a very special person in my life. Little did I know, when I was born in 1947, that Louise would became a very significant person in my life. Our families knew each other, as my mother, John, Bessie and Louise all grew up around Hobort, Oklahoma and all came to California. Growing up,we shared many family outings together, there were sleep overs, as Charlene and I were the same age. One can not forget the Sunday dinners (roast of course)after church.There were birthday parties, and youth activities at their home, as we became teenagers. Worship and Family were Louise's focus and this was seen in all facets of her life. From the very start, I was accepted as "one of her own" and treated with love and kindness. As time passed and my parents moved to Texas, this gracious women made sure that I was invited to all family functions and included. These are the memories that never fade away....they just get better. When my mother passed in 2002, Louise was like an adopted "mother" to me. I shall always cherish the times we spent together doing crafts, sewing and just chatting. Of course Catherine, Carolyn, Charlene and Christine were like sisters to me. Little did I know years later,as a widow myself,that I would truly become a part of the family by marriage. After Catherine passed,her husband, Mike, and I did marry. This is the really special part....I was now part of a family that I had grown to love and respect because of their "godly" mother. God had a plan for my life and their family was part of that plan. Who would have thought that I would be the stepmother to 3 of her granddaughters and "grammy" to 3 of her great grandchildren. How blessed I am because of her. I think Solomon was truly describing Louise when he wrote in Proverbs 31:10 "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." and he continues to describe "her" virtues. Louise will always be a part of my life and I shall always treasure her memory. My prayer, for my extended family, is that all of you will find peace and comfort knowing that she left a "little" piece of herself in all of you. When you look at each other, you will be able to put all the pieces together and "see your Mom". Gary and I have just received the word about the passing of Sis. Funk. She has been a long time friend and we will miss her big smile and encouraging words. We love her and her wonderful family. She was the best grandma in the whole wide world!! I am going to miss her like crazy!!

We are so very saddened by the death of Louise. She was a gracious woman who led by example and extreme kindness. We will miss her but know we will be reunited one day soon.
