Bill grew up in Memphis, TN where he developed a love all of things sport related. He attended college on a football scholarship at Southern IL University in Carbondale as a student-athlete where he met the love of his life, Rosalind, at the tender age of 20. They were married shortly after meeting and began their journey of life together which took them from Carbondale, IL to Virginia where they raised their family and then onto to Omaha, NE and Ravenel, SC.
To know Bill is to know the love he had for his family, and he poured into them daily through storytelling, coaching, teaching, providing advice, and supporting all their endeavors. He had a big, booming personality and presence, but also carried a kindness for instilling confidence in all those he touched.
He has left a legacy of love for his family – his wife, Rosalind, children, Randall (Ann), Tiffany, and four grandchildren, Miranda, Emerson, Taylen, and Tristin. He is also survived by his brothers, Kelvin (Gladys) and Kenneth, cousin, Martha Ann, who was raised as his sister, his nieces and nephews, and countless friends, and additional cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Doris (Mabon) Crutcher, and father, William Crutcher Sr.
Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 11am at Jubilee Baptist Church in Bolingbrook, IL. Online condolences can be made to www.carolinamemorial.com.
