Rev. William A. Cannon, 81, of Goose Creek, South Carolina went to his eternal home on Monday, January 23, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children. Bill was born on April 25, 1941 in Conway, South Carolina, to John W. and Blanche Cannon.
He absolutely loved and adored his family, and delighted in making people laugh. He enjoyed watching and talking about college and NFL football. He especially loved going to Myrtle Beach to eat seafood, spend time with his family, and reminisce of his younger life, shagging on the boardwalk with his sweetheart. He spent time drag racing and talking about cars and hot rodding. His biggest passion in life was sharing the love of Jesus with others. During his life, he was a pastor, a steel inspector at Georgetown Steel Mill and a Bi-Lo employee. Because he loved people, he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda Cannon, daughter Patricia Cannon (Mack), son Mike Cannon (Tina), and daughter Amy Jolley (Roger). He leaves with us his precious grandchildren, Shelby Ellis (Blake), David Cannon (Bernadette), Abigail Jolley, Aubrey Jolley, Jesse Gregory, and Kyle Brooks, and great-grandchildren, Bear, Sutton, Wilder, Kevin III, Alyssa, Hayden, and Jaimyson.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Walker and Blanche Cannon, brothers, Elwood and Alton Cannon, sister Juanita Bath, and his grandson, Kevin V. Gregory II.
A Visitation will be held January 28, 2023 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremations, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm in the Chapel. The Burial will follow the service at 3:30pm at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
