Shirley Jean Sims

Jean was born May 23, 1930 in Norfolk, Virginia on to the late Howard and Fannie Whitson. Jean married Charles Sims and had eight children. She lived most of her life in Goose Creek South Carolina and loved her family, friends and her Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by brothers, Elwood and Willard Whitson; sons, Billy Sims, Philip Sims and Joseph Taylor and daughters Linda Sims and Donna Pringle.

Jean is survived by sons, Michael Sims and Edward Sims; daughter Trisha Tran. Jean also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

She is resting in the arms of Jesus now.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremation located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. 843-797-2222. Jean’s funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
