Mary Newton

Relatives and friends of Mary Newton are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 PM, Sunday September 8, 2024 at the Omar Shrine Center, 176 Patriots Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests

memorial donations be made to the Omar Shrine Center or Sauldam Baptist Church in Ravenel.

Mary was born in Leon County, Florida on March 5, 1951. She was the daughter of Charlie and Laura Miller.

She loved giving gifts of love and friendship and was very active with the Omar Shrine Center and the Daughters of the Nile. She loved traveling, camping and using her embroidery machine. Mary was a member of the transportation club and very successful with the Waterfront of Charleston but above all, she loved being a grandmother.

Mary is survived by her children, Trish Perez (Pablo) and David (Munch) Morris (Sherry); her grandchildren, Kingston Alexander, Kymberley and James Kitchen, Michael Morris, Laverne Morris, Alyssa Morris and Carlos Herrera; her great grandchildren, Willow Kitchen, Magnolia Kitchen and Carlos Herrer, Jr and her brother, Carl Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Newton and her daughter, Pam Burgess.
