John Murray

John H Murray, age 72 of Hanahan, SC entered into eternal rest August 31, 2014. Born August 22, 1942 to the late John H. and Annette (Gaughan) Murray. John is survived by his wife of fifty years Margaret “Peggy” (Kershinski) Murray, his three daughters Annette Guy (Leslie) of North Carolina, Margaret “Peggy” Manukin (Paul) of Ohio, and Frances Pearce (Robert) of Goose Creek, SC; one brother Joseph P. Murray of Mt. Carmel, PA, six grandchildren Paul Manukin III of Maryland, Brittany Green of South Carolina, Ashlee Vandermolen of Pennsylvania, Heather Howell of Ohio, Megan Allen of South Carolina, and Kimberly Bechtold of North Carolina; five great grandchildren Melody Howell, Brooklyn Howell, Kaiden Green, Liam Sartin, Rielyn Howell; three step-grandchildren Avery Guy, Scarlett Guy, Rosetta Guy; and several nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by one grandson Chance Allen, and one step-grandson Dillan Guy. John graduated from Immaculate Heart High School in 1960. He is a retired U.S. Navy Chief and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 06726. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund, Goose Creek, SC where he was a longtime member, or to the American Lung Association in his honor.
