Jimmy was born April 14, 1934 in Troutman, NC.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Sweet Parker Cochran; his father, Jessie Parker; his sister, Peggy Cotter Yelton; and his wife Nina L. Parker.
TSgt Jimmy Parker retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He received the Bronze Star for meritorious service while serving in Vietnam from 1 Jan. 1968 to 1 November 1968. He went onto retire several additional times include Dispatcher for Rocket Express.
He is survived by his 4 daughters: Leigh Elizabeth Brown (James) of Summerville, SC; Claudette Jane Blanks (E. Lindsay) of Hanahan, SC; Charleen Shirley (Ronald E.) of Ridgeville; and Susan Wilson of Ridgeville, SC. His son, Jimmy L. Parker, Jr. (Judith “Judy”). His seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday August 14, 2024 from 12pm to 1 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC. A Memorial Service will follow from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm; with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
