He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Susan (Kendig) Franklin, a son, Alexander John “AJ” Franklin, a brother, Dr. John Albert Franklin, Jr. and his wife, Virginia (Lehman), and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Sr. and Thelma H. Franklin.
Jeffrey was born January 21st, 1954 in Chambersburg, PA, graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1972 and Shippensburg University (BA-Business) in 1976. For many years, he was the owner of J.P Franklin & Company Paint Store in Shippensburg, PA and after relocating to Charleston, SC, helped with the management of his son’s business, Charleston Green Taxi.
An active person his entire life, he particularly enjoyed boating, jet skiing, scuba diving, snowmobiling, and water skiing. Jeff was a “people person”, as anyone who ever met him can attest, and he always made time to help others in need and greeted everyone with a smile. He especially enjoyed traveling, but his very favorite trip was with his family to Egypt to see the pyramids. He always had a love for animals, especially his dogs, Tabatha & Caelus.
He was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church in Shippensburg and the Cumberland Valley Masonic Lodge #315 of Shippensburg.

On Wednesday, December 16th., Heaven received a “one of a kind” angel. Jeffrey Philip Franklin, 66, passed away peacefully in Charleston, South Carolina with his family by his side.
