Ernest Thomas “Ernie” Tisdale, 96, passed away on October 3, 2024, in Ladson, South Carolina. Born on September 19, 1928, in Charleston, he was predeceased by his wife of over 50yrs, Vivian Harmon Tisdale.
Ernie was a proud Army veteran of the Korean war. After his military service, he went to work at the Naval Shipyard as a Machinist, where he retired. He was an active member of the Advent Lutheran Church until it closed.
He was a kind, patient and loving father. He enjoyed auto racing, coin collecting, hunting and fishing. As well being a dedicated father and husband.
Ernie is survived by his children Susan Perrine (Dale) of Ladson, Thomas Tisdale Jr (Cheryl) of Charleston, and Dorothy Kurkowski of Summerville; Six Grandchildren, Ten Great Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grand Child. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A service to honor Ernie’s life will be held at Carolina Memorial Gardens 11am Monday Oct. 7 graveside.
