Emma Parnell

Emma Lee Parnell, 95, wife of the late Carl Parnell, Sr. passed away after a short illness on August 24 in Goose Creek, SC. Emma was born June 17, 1927 to Louis and Georgan Peagler. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Neumann (Dave) and her grandchildren - Jamie Lynn, Scott and Courtney Neumann, Carl Parnell III (Michele), Matthew Parnell (Sheila) and Traci High (Billy) Jamie Coleson and a daughter-in-law Kathy Parnell. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Carl Parnell, Jr. and a daughter, Linda Parnell. She was also predeceased by her special friend, Don Emerson.

Emma was a person of great faith and always had a friendly smile and a kind word for others. She was active in her church for almost 70 years and enjoyed church activities, playing Bingo at her local Senior Center and loved shopping and sewing. Emma endured many hardships over her life span but remained strong in her faith. The family would like to thank the staff at Pinewood Assisted Living and Crescent Hospice for their loving kindness during these last weeks. Memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1444 Remount Road, North Charleston. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 30th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church also. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406, at 1:30 pm.
