Edward, you were a wonderful person! Everybody that got a chance to meet you, loved you. You were thoughtful, sweet, and would give the shirt off your back to someone in need. If it wasn't for you, I don't know if I would have made it through my highschool years. You were a true friend..... And I will NEVER forget you! God has another angel! R.I.P my dear friend. You will be truly missed, and never forgotten. Love you!

I read through the posted memories of Edward and was so touched about comments on his love for his family. He was so dedicated to his wife Melisa and his girls, Myra and Ellen. His laugh will always be remembered. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and were privileged to call him their friend. Melisa, know that you and the girls are in my prayers. 

To my friend Ed, what can be said about you that is not felt by everyone who knew you.  Ed you truly were A light to all who knew you and now the world is a much darker place without you. Although we all prayed to God to leave you with us all, God just loved you so much and wanted you home. Someday we will see you again. 

Well what can I say I was the only CDL driver at New breed logistics when Ed came to work there I remember him coming to me and telling me he had a CDL and would like to drive a big truck so I talked about Ed to my supervisor Brad Rainey and the rest is history. All I can say is Heaven defently got an angel. He is and will always be my friend and I will miss you so very much I deliver to Xpo and when we could we would meet and hug and say hello we never let each other down and kept each other in touch.well I could go on and on about my friend but I will just cherish all my memories with him. Love you brother 

I worked with Ed for the past 2.5 years. He  was one of the first people to welcome me. He always had a smile, cheerful greeting, or some sage advice about raising a teenage daughter. He will be greatly missed. 

I can't think of Ed and not see that smile on his face. He was a "good guy", one who cared about his family, doing a good job and being a friend. I remember him taking the time to tell me he appreciated something that I was doing to try to help the drivers. From then on, it didn't matter that no one else said anything--Ed said he appreciated it & that was enough. Still trying to accept him leaving and praying for his beautiful family.

I met Ed in December 2014 at Newbreed Logistics when he graciously showed me the ropes. A nicer man I’ve never met. I will miss you my friend. (Mr. T)

I met Ed back in 2019 at work. Being new to Charleston, he was one of the first people to really just talk. We covered it all. From God and family to music the sports. One thing that I will always remember Ed for was his smile and laugh. 
Ed loved to laugh. We would often be cutting up with bosses and coworkers and he would just be laughing. His love for family was second to none. Not a day would pass without us exchanging stories about our kids. He would ask how my oldest was doing as he prepared for bootcamp daily. 
I pray for peace and comfort for his family throughout this time. Know Ed had talked about y'all every day! 



I met Ed for the first time back in July of 2014.  He was assigned as my trainer and really made my first few months with the company a success.  Then, as well as present day, Ed always had a smile on his face and it became so much brighter when you asked him about his family.  I remember a couple of years ago almost every time we met we would discuss Germany and throw words back and forth.  I don't remember exactly why we were jaw jabbing in German so much, but it had something to do with his daughter's birthday.  Silly remembrance I guess, but it paints a great picture of who Ed was and what was important to him.  Sure, do a great job at work was super important to him, but nothing even came close to the love and rock solid devotion he had towards his wife and little girls.  

I will miss Ed so very much.  It's so hard to believe that this has happened to such a gentle, caring man.  I consider it a privilege and an honor to have known him.  My sincerest condolences to Melissa and the girls he loved so dearly.  

Be strong and always keep the faith....

Ed was an awesome man, father, and coworker. I had the honor of working with Ed for about 3 years. This man always put family first and I respect him for that. I became close to Ed over the years and he became not only a coworker, but a friend. He holds a special place in my heart and will always be remembered. Rest In Peace my friend.
