Retired Navy Petty Officer, Donald Toy Sumner, husband of Magdalene Sumner, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 16, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Union, South Carolina, on June 24, 1940 to Toy and Elise Boling Sumner. He is survived by his wife of the home, one son, Don Sumner and his wife, Donna, one daughter, Mary Cooper and her husband, Kevin; four granddaughters, Rebecca Cooper, Ashlee Sumner, Aubreigh Sumner and Hillary Sumner; two sisters, Frances Marion of Union, South Carolina and Joyce McDonald of Winnsboro, South Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Sumner. He was a devoted Christian and member of Deer Park Baptist Church. He will be loved and missed by all. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00am at Deer Park Baptist Church, 8875 University BLVD, with funeral service to follow at noon. Burial will be held in Carolina Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Deer Park Church Revive God’s Plan, in remembrance of Donald Sumner
