David W. Martin, 53 passed away Monday, February 13. 2017, at MUSC Hospital, Charleston SC. David was born in 1963. He graduated from Bonds Wilson High School in 1982. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC. David’s business career began with Ford Motor Credit Company in Charleston. He spent the last 20 years in the Berkley and Charleston County School System. Most recently as County Supervisor in the Charleston Bus Shop. He “lived and breathed” school busses. David had an intense interest in politics. He could argue his point with the best of them. This interest was initiated when he served as a volunteer for Carroll Campbell’s governors campaign. David’s heroes were Ronald Reagan and Carroll Campbell. Three words that sum up David’s life : Ethics, loyalty and dedication. David is survived by his parents, Jack and Brenda Martin of North Charleston; by two brothers, Tommy (Juli) and Lee (Belinda); newphew, Dylan Martin and a niece Lyndsay Cross; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. David was predeceased by “Granny Anderson” and Grandmama Martin. A memorial service will be held at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston on February 17, 2017, 11:00AM 10am visitation prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Remount Baptist Church, 1520 Remount Road, North Chaleston SC, 29406 The family wishes to thank the many friends and family members for their support and prayers.
