Carol Ann Smith

She attended and graduated from St. Andrews High School and worked for American Mutual Insurance and retired from Unison Insurance Co.

Carol met the love of her life, Fred Smith, and the two were married on February 22, 1988.

She was cherished by Fred for 35 years.

Her favorite sports were bowling and baseball. She was a dedicated fan towards the Atlanta Braves.

Carol was preceded in death by her son, William R. Jacobs, of the United States Army.

She is survived by her husband, Fred L. Smith (Goose Creek); her sister, Janice Augustine (Summerville), and brother Ronnie Albee (Goose Creek); her two daughters, Martha “Marci” C. Giannelli (Columbia), and Kimberly A. Smith (Goose Creek); granddaughters, Ashley D’Water, Kala Giannelli, and Mary Giannelli-Basobas; and great-grandchildren, Lyla Foster, Abigail D’Water, EJ D’Water, Savannah D’Water, and Evelyn Basobas.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 6-8PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, N. Charleston, SC 29406.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 12:00PM, at Carolina Memorial Gardens; the procession will lead out to the cemetery from Carolina Memorial Funeral Home.
