Gordon was predeceased by his daughter, Glynis, and is survived by his wife Irene; his daughters Alanna (husband Sidrick Baker) and Disa; sons Lee (Linsey), Winston (Anne) Bear, Clint; adopted daughters Rebecca Brady, Bertrille Fox, Irene Oaks, Patrice Kautzman, Danielle Thunderchild, René Daoust-Thompson, Melanie Favel, and Cathy Moses; adopted son Derek Thompson; his grandchildren: Rylan, Nelson, Sidrick Baker Jr, Mitchell, Aiyanna, Aidyn, Ferran, Coral, Tanner, Rider, Emerson, Ethan, Lyric, Maleah, Emery, Valdez and Cee Jay; great-grandchildren Elise and Bronson. He is also survived by his brothers Edwin, Simon, Austin, Martin, Eric, Arsene, Leonard; sisters Leona and Shirley, and their families. The family also wishes to give special recognition to Gordon’s agent, MaryJane MacCallum of The Arc.
Gordon’s wish was for people to celebrate his life more so than mourn his death. He will be missed and so fondly remembered by all of those who knew and loved him.
Gordon was a Canadian Cultural icon beloved my many for his long and illustrious acting career, as well as his commitment to his community and Aboriginal youth. First and foremost; he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
