Rita L. Davis

Rita was born July 31,1942 in Ringling, Oklahoma to George and Vaszene Ivey. She was one of eight children. Rita graduated from Duncan High School.

Rita married the love of her life, Joe, on June 15, 1961. They had two wonderful children, Marsha and Robert, together. Being raised in Duncan, Oklahoma, Joe and Rita moved to Norman early in their relationship and lived there for the remaining of their years, raising their children there. Rita and Joe were managers of multiple Dairy Queen throughout the metro area for many years. After leaving Dairy Queen, she worked at Walmart until her retirement.

Rita loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed OU Football, watching old movies, gardening and reading. She was always up for cookouts and family dinners (or any reason to spend time with loved ones).

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Vaszene Ivey, a brother, Dewey Ivey, and her loving husband, Joe Davis. She is survived by her two children, daughter, Marsha Davis of Norman, son Robert Davis and his wife, Lisa, of Norman. Two grandchildren Caitlin Burkhead and husband Justin of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Logan Davis of Norman. Six brothers and sisters, Paul (Buddy) Ivey, James Ivey, Christine Harrell, Judy Ivey Long, Becky Ivey Theis, and Gary Ivey. Plus multiple nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Rita will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Norman IOOF Cemetery, 1913 N. Porter ave, Norman, OK 73071.
