Lynn was born on October 4, 1936 to Aubrey and Mamie Jewell (Thomas) Pickle in McAlester. He attended Indianola schools and graduated in 1956. Lynn was the Class President of the class of 1956 and took his duties very seriously. He also enjoyed playing basketball and received all state honors. Instead of pursuing his basketball scholarship, he enlisted in the U. S. Air force in 1956 and was stationed in Hawaii and Japan. When he was discharged in Almaogordo, New Mexico in 1960, and Lynn flipped a coin to decide whether to see family in Oklahoma or California. The flip of the coin led him to California where he met his sweetheart of 63 years. Lynn married Rose Marie Goodin February 14, 1961 in Petaluma California in the home of Rose’s parents.
Lynn worked for Pacific Bell telephone company in California and in 1969 was transferred to Southwestern Bell telephone in Oklahoma. He worked there until his retirement in 1990 after 30 years of service. In 1996, Lynn began his ministry of traveling to Mexico and Puerto Rico to build churches with other missionaries. He helped build 5 churches, an orphanage, and a college around the Reynosa, Mexico area. In Mexico city he helped build duplexes for the college and helped renovate the college. Then in Puerto Rico, Lynn helped build some churches. He and Joey Howeth would raise funds by bricking homes in the Cleveland and McClain County areas to pay for the buildings they were helping build in Mexico.
Lynn was one of a kind with a pure servant’s heart. He never met a stranger and met friends everywhere he went. He could fix anything and would help anyone at any time with a happy heart. His favorite hobbies included spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, carpentry, and restoring his many vintage cars.
