Funeral services will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Norman on November 13th at 3:00. Pastor Ronnie Rogers of Trinity Baptist Church will be officiating, and arrangements are by Primrose Funeral Home. He will later be laid to rest at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Jerry was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma to George David Campbell and Ethel Johnson Campbell on October 23rd, 1942. In February of 1964, Jerry was out with his military buddies and went to a McDonalds. There, he met Janice Brown Campbell where he asked her to go out the next night. Just six weeks later, they were married on April 3rd, 1964 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a firefighter in Memphis, and he felt honored to serve his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War. Jerry was awarded the Purple Heart among other medals. Later in life, he enjoyed serving in his community at Trinity Baptist Church, heading up the Lifetime Ministries (a nursing home ministry) with Janice.
Jerry was a kind and funny man who loved the Lord. He also adored his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Janice Ruth Brown Campbell, his two daughters Lynne Alison Campbell Morgan and Cheryl Anne Campbell Buss, and his son-in-law Brandon Dale Buss. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Carly Madison Buss Arrington and her husband Zachary Charles Arrington, Levy Nicole Buss, Owen Henry Morgan, Emily Ryan Buss, and Jake Everett Morgan. All family members are from Norman, Oklahoma.
