After attending college, James spent 41 years in the military by going into the Air Force from 1966 to 1972 and then joined the Army National Guard from 1972 until he retired in 2007. James lived in Kennett, Missouri, Germany, and San Pedro, California before moving to Norman, Oklahoma.
James loved listening to country music, sitting in his deer stand and seeing the biggest buck come into his sights, spending time with his wife, children, and grandkids, cruising, and his country. He will always be remembered for teaching his family honor, loyalty, honesty, integrity, love and patience, being the greatest grandad ever, an amazing father, a devoted husband, and an honorable veteran. James was a member of the NRA and Lifetime Hunting and Fishing.
James met the love of his life, Kelly Baker, and they married on December 12, 1996.
James is preceded in death by his parents Dimon O Hall and Hazel L (Wollums) Hall; brothers Jackie, Rex, Michael, and Ricky Hall; and sister Junelle Gramling.
Those left to cherish James’ memory is his wife Kelly Hall of the home; daughter Stephanie York (Jack); son Jason Hall (Chyla); step son Chris Anderson (Marilyn); step daughter Kristin Vandagriff (Jeff); step son Joseph Little; grandchildren Kallie Heflin (Colt), Dakota Hall, Beau York, JD York, April Wells (Jobe), Brynleigh York, Bailey Hall, Jake Hall, Addison Hall, Bryce Anderson, Austin Anderson, Riley Anderson, Valerie Fulton (Jared), Lachlan Vandagriff, Jeyalea Vandagriff, Josephine Vandagriff, Anna Little, Brandon Boden; great grandchild Bentley Fulton; uncle Jim Ralph Hall (Earlene); father in law Ralph Baker (Lavona Jewel); brother in laws Steve Baker and Shawn Baker (Stacy); nephew Ron Hall; nieces Jaime Baker, Sarah Baker, and Haley Baker; and many friends.
A memorial service for James will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. A committal service will occur Monday, February 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park.
