He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Juanita Wampler.
Mike was born in Oklahoma City, December 22, 1944. He attended Jefferson Elementary, Central Mid-High, and Norman High School. Mike was a member of the Army National Guard from July of 1964 until July of 1970. He was honorably discharged on July 14, 1970.
Mike and Cindy met in Norman, on a blind date, although she still lived in Texas at the time. Happily, this was one of the few times a Texan and an Okie came together. They were married February 17, 1967. Cindy soon became an Oklahoma fan and they enjoyed many OU football and baseball games together over the years.
Mike worked at Carlsbad and Affiliates as a construction manager from 1984 to the present. Prior to that, he worked for Kenneth Hansmeyer at Hansmeyer Plumbing. He loved fast cars, fishing, all OU sports, especially football and baseball, coaching youth sports and all his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Stephenson Cancer Center, 800 N.E. 10th St., Oklahoma City Oklahoma.
