Henry James Blair

Henry was born September 14, 1937 in Bronx, New York to James and Gertrude Blair. Henry was preceded in death by mother and father Gertrude and James Blair and sister Muriel Finizi. He is survived by wife JoAnna C. Blair of 62 years, son Henry and wife Wanda, daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Tim Grantham, and son Frederick and wife Kerri, as well as grandchildren Sherry, Bethany, Julia, Joseph, William, Ruby, Jake, and Stormy, as well as, 5 great grandchildren.

Henry was employed as a sheet metal worker and retired in 1999. He then purchased a sail boat and enjoyed sailing for 10 years. In his youth he took flying lessons and soloed in a small plane. He was in the National Guard for 8 years and honorably discharged as a sergeant. He enjoyed gardening and always looked forward to the spring. He was a great handyman and did many projects in the house that included tiling, painting and woodworking. He really enjoyed his grand, and great grandchildren.

Henry moved to Oklahoma in 1978 and never once missed living in New York. He will be missed by the whole family.

A graveside service for Henry will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Norman IOOF, 1913 N Porter Ave., Norman, OK 73071.
