Goldie Ann Whitlock
Oct. 10, 1921 – Jan 12, 2020
Goldie was born Oct. 10, 1921 to Edmond and Myrtle Foster in Blue Ridge, Texas.
Most of her life was spent here in Okla. She married a high school sweetheart, Haskel Whitlock on 10-11-1941 and was a military wife for a number of years. She worked at various jobs, but found her greatest satisfaction in being a wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother. Her family were always her pride and priority and she went to great lengths to lavish love on each one.
Extended family gatherings were also very important to her and she never missed one.
Goldie was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church for 60 years where she enjoyed being a long time secretary of her Bible Class.
As long as her health permitted she celebrated each member’s birthday by delivering a birthday card along with a home baked goodie on their special day.
She was known for her generosity and big heart, always there if anyone needed her. Goldie was the care giver for her parents in their later years. She was deeply concerned that all family members have a personal relationship with Jesus and one day have a home in heaven.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Myrtle Foster, her sister, Zada Smith, three brothers, Ira Foster, Orville Foster, Donald Foster, a daughter Bettie Jane Spears.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Hicks and her husband Jess Hicks, a son Eddie M. Whitlock, 5 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Lovada Keen of Seminole and Naomi Nakamura of Norman, a brother-in-law, Donnie Whitlock.
