She was born on May 9, 1948 in Oak Park, IL to Arthur Julius Urban and Muriel Edwina (Kalbac).
Gayle earned her nursing degree from Morton College in Cicero, IL. She was a registered nurse for 45 years; Working with Baxter General Hospital in Mountain Home, AR, Norman Regional Hospital and Loving Care Home Health and Hospice. She was a Girl Scout troop leader for Troop 633 and even earned Leader of the Year in 2007 for the Norman/Noble area. She was a devout catholic and was a member of St. Thomas More Parish for over 30 years. She was very involved with the church and St. Vincent De Paul. She was also the President of the Martha and Mary Guild. She enjoyed her travels to Italy with the church. Gayle loved angels, crafting, sewing and scrapbooking. Above all she loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Randall Gondeck of Norman, Carolyn and husband James Crawford of Norman, Sarah Gondeck of Norman; grandchildren: Mavis Talley, Nicholas and Emily Crawford; siblings: Art Urban of Atwood, IL, Sharon Roach of Flippin, AR, Danny Urban of St. Louis, MO as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father of her children: Richard Gondeck; son: Robert Gondeck and sister Carol.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday April 10 at Primrose Funeral Service. It will continue at the funeral home on Thursday until 5 p.m. A rosary service will then be held at 7 p.m. Thursday April 11 at St. Thomas More University Parish. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday April 12 at St. Thomas More University Parish. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas More University Parish or Saint Vincent De Paul.
