Fredda Carol Blagg Bayless, 81 died October 1, 2024, in Norman, OK after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Graveside Services will be on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., in Norman, Oklahoma at Sunset Memorial Park with Les Brown officiating. Primrose Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Fredda was born on October 9, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the older of two daughters of Fred Walter Blagg and Ruth Turner Blagg. She grew up in Oklahoma City and after graduating from John Marshall High School in 1960, attended the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She received two degrees from OU, a B.S. degree in 1964 and a M.Ed. in Counseling in 1978. She also attended the University of Central Oklahoma where she received her certification for School Psychologist. She worked as a Spanish and English teacher in Norman at West Mid High and Norman High School, and as a Counselor at Adams and Truman Elementary Schools. At the time of her retirement in 1998, she was a School Psychologist with Oklahoma City Public Schools.
Fredda Carol Blagg married Roger Lowell Bayless on June 12, 1965, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After living in Enid, Oklahoma, they relocated to Norman, where Roger was employed as a pharmacist. Fredda enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, photography, sewing for her grandchildren, and counted cross-stitch. She was historian for the Sustaining Board, and former rush advisor for Gamma Phi Beta. She was an active member of the GC Chapter of PEO, and a member of the First Christian Church. In addition, she was a volunteer at the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History. Roger and Fredda spent the last 10 years living in Lindsay, Oklahoma where she was active in the community and attended United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Walter Blagg and her mother Ruth Turner Blagg.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roger Lowell Bayless, her daughters Susan Carol Bayless, Sally (Steve) Ann Robertson, her six grandchildren Jacob Robertson, Ashley Robertson, Blake Robertson, Amanda Robertson, Sydney Royce, Kellan (Sabrina) Royce and her great grandson Daniel Royce. Her sister Linda (Thomas) Boggess, sister-in-law Carolyn Hutto, and 3 nieces and a nephew.
