Elizabeth “Liz” J. Welp, 58, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Monday, April 30, 2012, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her immediate family and went peacefully and quietly.
Liz worked at Cancer Care Associates for nearly 17 years before being diagnosed. Her kind and selfless soul left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was most comfortable when she was making others smile.
Some of Liz’s favorite activities included spending time with her family, knitting, sewing, and quilting, and rollerblading. She travelled throughout the country with her husband and attended almost all of his local music gigs. But Liz’s most cherished times were spent with her husband in their home away from home, their cabin in the Arbuckle’s.
Liz is preceded in death by her mother, Stella Clahane, and her father, James Clahane. She is survived by her husband, Bob Welp, children and their spouses, Jessica Welp and Jason DiCastro, Kevin and Adrienne Welp, and Marty Welp, granddaughter Farrah Welp, siblings and their spouses Jim and Terri Clahane, Virginia and Mark Crawford, Mary and Danny Miller, and Trisha and John Puglisi, and many nieces and nephews.
Though she walked this earth with us, we never saw her feet touch the ground.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary: HC 61 Box 28 Ramah, NM 87321
