Donald “Donny” James Wheeler Jr. 55 of Oklahoma City, passed away on October 31, 2021 at his home. Donny was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on November 11, 1965 to Donald James Wheeler Sr. and Patricia Renee Wheeler.
Donny served his country in the United States Army from 1986-1988. Donny resided in Oklahoma City until joining the military in 1986 and was stationed in Germany, after his discharge from the military; he lived in Arkansas and then moved back to Oklahoma City where he resided until his passing. Donny enjoyed carpentry and learning new job-related skills, was an avid gun enthusiast and was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar, loved watching and collecting movies, an avid OU football fan, loved to travel and eat different foods, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donny will be remembered as a great big brother to his two brothers and three sisters and a very loving uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Donny was a very hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.
Donny is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; brother; aunts; uncle; grandparents; great niece and a nephew.
Donny is survived by his father, Donald James Wheeler Sr.; brothers, Chris Wheeler, Matthew Wheeler and wife Cassidy Wheeler; sisters, Melissa Wheeler, Amy Wheeler, Jennifer Wheeler; nieces and nephews, David “Heath” Willowby, Chari Graves, Jamison Wheeler, Dayja Wheeler, Jarrod Wheeler, Desmond Wheeler, Dylon Wheeler, Mariyah King, Kiahnna Smith, Dallas Wheeler, Dalton Wheeler, Caitlynn Coulter, Cameron Coulter; great nieces and nephews, Abigail Willowby, Jennifer Willowby, Jessica Willowby, Jada Moore, Samia Gaines, Symone Gaines, Saliyah King, Rebecca Willowby, Callen Willowby, Josh Moore Jr., Sabellah King, Salanah King, Zeydah Mae; along with many other family and friends.
Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, November 5, 2021 at Primrose Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 pm with Celebrant Glenda Stansbury officiating. Cremation with care will be handled by Primrose Funeral Service. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman.
