Carolyn Sue Constant

Born on September 19, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carolyn was the daughter of Justin Manley Bailey and Helen Joy (Portwood) Bailey. In 1968, her family moved to Salina, Kansas, and then to West Des Moines, Iowa, in 1973. Carolyn graduated from Valley High School in 1979. After many years away, she and her family returned to Norman in 1994, where they made their home. Carolyn enjoyed a fulfilling career with Southwest Airlines, where she worked from 1996 until her retirement in 2018.

Carolyn had a deep love for music, especially The Beatles, Billy Joel, Elton John, and classic rock. She loved spending time with her friends and family, often gathered around the pool, enjoying Sooners games, traveling, and spoiling her beloved pets.

On August 21, 1982, Carolyn married James “Jim” Aubrey Constant Jr., the love of her life. Their marriage brought two daughters, Allison and Kristi, and they shared nine joyful years together before Jim’s untimely passing in October 1991. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She instilled in her family the values of deep love, strength, honesty, and perseverance.

Carolyn will be remembered as a fun-loving, honest, loyal, and joyful person with a knack for making a house a home. Her warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Aubrey Constant Jr., and her parents, Justin Manley Bailey and Helen Joy (Portwood) Bailey. Carolyn leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Allison Constant and Kristi Constant Littlecreek, both of Norman, Oklahoma; her brother, Clay Bailey of Norman; her grandchildren, Dylan, Kara, and Jax; and her cherished fur babies, Sissy, Charlie, and Rowdy.

A celebration of life for Carolyn will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071.
