Calvin "Cal" Leroy Wynn

Cal was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 25, 1929 to Eleanor Francis Hamlin and m/sgt. Harry Hylie Wynn.

Cal is survived by his wife, Natalie K. Brinlee Wynn, three sons: Terry Kevin Wynn, Todd Kelly Wynn, and Tony Kurt Wynn of Edmond and Norman, Oklahoma. Two daughters: Katherine Ann Lipp and Corlette Schuler, both of Hamilton, Bermuda. A sister DeAnne Pula. A brother t/sgt Harry Hylie Wynn Jr. (ret.) of Choctaw, Oklahoma. His children by marriage are Dave Brinlee and wife Ann, Susan Factor, Kay Rumsey and husband Mike, and by the true joys of his life, his grandchildren: Casey Schuler, Jason Tibbs, John Factor, Kristy Factor, Taylor Factor, David Scott Brinlee (deceased), Mark Brinlee and wife Jenna Brinlee, Kaycee Rumsey, and Presley Rumsey.

Cal, along with his sons, owned and operated Norman Photography for many years. Cal was a member of The Norman Business Association, a Paul Harris Fellow with the Norman Rotary Club and a long time commissioner of the Norman Parks and Recreation Commission.

Cal was so eager to serve his country that he enlisted in The United States Army Air Force in 1945 at the age of 15. He was lucky enough to be able to attend photography school at Lowry Field, Colorado.

His first tour of duty as an aerial photographer was on the island of Guam in the 54th Air Weather Service known as the “Typhoon Trackers”, where they actually flew into the center of the typhoons to determine the direction and wind velocity so that they could warn the people in its path. He then spent a tour of duty on the island of Bermuda with the 53rd Air Weather Service known as the “Hurricane Hunters”, where they performed the same service. He served a total of 8 years in the Air Force.

Cal loved to ballroom dance with his beautiful wife, Natalie (Nell), his favorites were Swing and Jitterbug.

A private family service will be held on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make donations to The Salvation Army.
