Brent D. Bishop of Shakopee, Minnesota, and formerly Norman, left his earthly journey for his Heavenly home on April 9 after a six-month battle with cancer. He was 49. After graduating from Norman High School and Oklahoma State University, he married Norma Jean Sexton, and they made their home in Minnesota, where he worked in a variety of industries, the majority of which focused on cars: trucks or boats. He enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing. A loyal Cowboy, he loved watching college football and basketball games as well as watching hockey. He was a classic car enthusiast, who also enjoyed seeing NASCAR races. Most of all, he treasured his time with family, especially with his wife, children and grandchildren. A happy-hearted guy, he entertained those around him with stories and an ever-present sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Norma, and daughter, Sydney, of the home; stepdaughter Heather MacDonald and her husband Kyle and their children Scarlett and Elise of Stanchfield, Minnesota; mother Catherine Bishop And brother Kevin Bishop both of Norman. A lifelong Christian, he was affiliated with the Methodist church.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, in the chapel of Primrose Funeral Servies.
