Betty Louise de Jones-Parra

Betty Louise Smiley de Jones-Parra, 84, of Norman passed away January 25, 2012. She was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on December 1, 1927. Betty graduated from high school and attended the University of Oklahoma where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing in 1949.

While at OU, she met her future husband, Juan Jones-Parra. Betty and Johnny married on December 26, 1948 and moved to Caracas, Venezuela where they began their family. Betty had seven beautiful daughters. As a result of Johnny’s career, the family moved on several occasions to the US and back to Venezuela.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Johnny in September of 1990. Following that loss, she moved to Norman, Oklahoma.

Betty is survived by her sister Mary Padan (George); her daughters Leslie Jones-Parra, Delia Perez-Alonso (Ramon), Ligia Jones-Parra, Luisa Keating (Patrick), Alesia Sipes (Bob), Betina Jones-Parra (Ricky), Lisa Jones-Parra (Randy); grandchildren Eduardo Osorio, Ricardo Osorio, Ramon Javier Perez-Alonso, Hermes Gil Jones-Parra, Michelle Leach, Michael Keating, Danielle Schlegel, Matthew Schlegel, Elizabeth Sipes; great grand-daughter Magnolia Leach; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We will all miss her glamor, sense of humor, wisdom and company.

Visitation will be at Primrose Funeral Service Saturday, January 28th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
