Walter D. Hunger Sr., 89, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2013. Walter was born in Norfolk, Virginia on February 4, 1924. Walter was married to Jo Ann Hunger on February 7, 1948; they were married 65 years. In 1966 he started Hunger’s Servicenter Inc., with the support of his loving wife and family, which is still in operation. He was a Freemason of Atlantic Lodge #2 of Norfolk, a Shriner, a member of the Cape Henry Model A Club and The Tidewater AACA Antique Auto Club, he also served in WWII. Most importantly, Walter was a loving father, devoted husband, and loved life.
Walter is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; his three children, Walter David Hunger II, Jon F. Hunger, and Kathy Ann Hunger; his brother Maurice Hunger; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on April 20, 2013 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens; Rev. Myron Simmons will be officiating. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.woodlawngroup.com.
