Velma "Jerry" Geraldine Henson

Velma Geraldine “Jerry” Henson, 88, passed away in Chesterfield, VA on Friday, August 16, 2024. Jerry was born in West Virginia to the late Lester and Audrey Johnson. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Paul Henson and her siblings, Imagene Berry, Thelma Johnson, Myrtle Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Harold Johnson and Dottie Heagy. Jerry prioritized her family first in all she did. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and even a great-great grandmother, a true Matriarch to 5 generations! She enjoyed listening to a variety of music, but loved most of all Elvis and dancing to Chubby Checker’s “Twist”. Jerry is cherished in memory by her children, Debbie Varnell (Craig) and Paul Henson (Anna); ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and her brother, Frederick Johnson (Drema). A visitation will be conducted from 4-8pm, Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1pm, Monday, August 26, 2024 in the funeral home chapel and to be completed with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. After the services, the family welcomes everybody to come back to the reception hall at Woodlawn Funeral Home to fellowship with the family and share some memories of Jerry with them.
