Pauline Herndon Hood

Pauline Herndon Hood, 82, entered into eternal rest on June 20, 2022. She was born to the late Paul W. Herndon and Lucy L. Herndon on February 4, 1940 in Norfolk, VA. She was educated in Norfolk Public Schools, and later attended Norfolk State University. Pauline worked for Norfolk Naval Supply Center for 27 years. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She also worked with Seniors until her health began to decline. Her favorite pastime hobbies were watching TV, reading the newspaper, cooking great meals and spending time with family and friends. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lucy Herndon; brother, Sherman Herndon and sister, Shirley Billups. Left to cherish her precious memories are her five loving children: Rhonda Hood McKeithan (Dwight), Shelton Hood (Cherly), Tracy Hood, Terry Illa (Tomas) and Tamara Jones. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and three special cousins, Samuel Smith (Tina) of Decatur, Georgia, Gwendolyn Ashby of Norfolk, VA, and Larry Garner (Rosa) of Chesapeake, VA. The family wished to express gratitude for you many acts of kindness and support, we ask for you continued prayers.
A visitation will be conducted from 6-8pm, Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11am, Union Baptist Church, 4608 South Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452. A second visitation will be conducted 2 hours before the service beginning at 9am.
