OBITUARY
Lillian Greenspan White
10 October, 1931 – 6 November, 2024
IN THE CARE OF
Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens
Lillian Greenspan White (93), widow of David White and beloved mother to Karen Hojnowski and Linda Blake, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, on November 6, 2024.
Lillian was born to Shirley and Daniel Greenspan on October 10, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, the second eldest of seven sisters. She met the love of her life and future husband, Dave, after writing to him through a pen pal program for US military stationed abroad, and less than a year after their first date, they wed.
Soon they moved to Norfolk, Virginia, where Lillian spent most of her adult life. She was active in her community and was known for her warm smile and kindness, for always seeing the best in others, and for her gentle pride in her children and grandchildren, for whom her generosity and care was boundless.
In addition to her two daughters, Lillian is survived by her sister, Eleanor Jodkiewicz, her sons in law, Mike Hojnowski and Bill Blake, her 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. We are forever grateful for the lessons she has imparted us on how to live a rich life.
Visitation with the family will be held at 11am on November 13, 2024 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon. She will be privately laid to rest beside her husband in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Please visit her webpage at www.woodlawnnorfolk.com to leave a note of condolence to her family.
