Obituary of Kelly McPeak Sosa
Kelly Marie McPeak Sosa passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 6, 2023 in Norfolk, Viginia. She was born December 3, 1976 to loving parents, Everette and Linda McPeak in Anderson, South Carolina. She married her sweetheart, Mark Daniel Sosa, on June 13, 2008 and then sealed for time and all eternity in the LDS Washington, D.C. Temple on June 13, 2009. Kelly was a light to everyone around her, always singing and smiling. She would brighten a room with her beautiful smile. Her love of music was evident in all its forms - from playing instruments and singing in choir to harmonizing to the radio with her family. She also loved to dance. She enjoyed her family home in the mountains and looked forward to visiting her parents to play games with her mom and family and watch sports with her dad and brothers. When she could, she enjoyed camping and watching the Olympics. She also loved her husband’s cooking! She had a strong spirit and knew just how to lift others up. She often got lost in a good book while sitting on the beach at sunset while enjoying the smell and breeze. She was fiercely proud of her children and always there to love and give advice. She loved her husband and children above all and cherished every moment she had with them. She will be extremely missed. She is survived by her parents and husband; five children, Kaira (Seth) Crosby, Ethan O’Rourke, Ema, MaryEtta, and Addison Sosa; 1 sister, Connie (Tony) Havens; 2 brothers, Steve (Brooke) McPeak, and Matthew McPeak; in-laws Marco and Maria Sosa, 2 brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 10th, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (4873 Bonney Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462) from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM with a family viewing from 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM. Graveside service will be held after the viewing beginning at 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens (6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk, VA 23502). The family would like to thank the staff at Woodlawn Funeral Home for their guidance.
