Joseph Phillip Pullen

Joseph P. Pullen, 81, passed away on August 15, 2015. He was born in Georgia on August 11, 1934. Joe was a lifelong Barber in Norfolk. He was an army veteran and avid gardener. Joe spent many years enjoying duckpin bowling, softball, and fishing. In later years, he was a softball umpire. Joe was preceded in death by parents George and Ruby Pullen, Brother George D. (Gwen), and Sister Gloria Blask and by longtime companion Betty Loggans. He is survived by sons J. Michael (Tammy) of Suffolk; George R. (Danielia) of Georgia; Daughters Liane Knight (Alex), Bobbie Jo Orosco of Arizona; Betty Jo Beard of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Joe will also be especially missed by his dear friend, Joyce Weatherford and his beagles, Angel and Bubba. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 21, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Mike Eisenman. The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel on Thursday, August 20, from 6 to 8 p.m.
